Information for Your SCHEDULED Appointment:
- Please be aware that we are on EASTERN time. If you are coming from a different time zone, you are responsible for accounting for the time difference in your travel time.
- Your meet & greet and adoption visits will most likely be conducted in my home/living room. This allows a more quiet and calm environment to interact with and get to know the bird.
- My home does have cats and a dog. If you are allergic to these animals, please make us aware before the appointment so we can do our best to accommodate this.
- My home and the bird facility are not wheelchair accessible. Both the house and bird facility will require steps to access. We apologize for this inconvenience.
- We ask that you do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your scheduled time without confirmation from the rescue that this ok. This will help prevent potential schedule conflicts.
- Appointments are scheduled in 45 minute time blocks. If you arrive late, that will reduce your time spent with the bird. You may be asked to do an additional visit if we do not feel that enough time was accomplished during your visit. We highly recommend arriving on time to avoid this.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled and you will be asked to reschedule.
- Early/late arrivals may interfere with other appointments/plans that we have scheduled. If you are unable to attend at your scheduled time and need to change your appointment time, please communicate that with us ASAP.
- A NO CALL/NO SHOW to your appointment will result in your application being denied. Please be respectful of the time that we have scheduled to be available to you for your appointment. We simply ask that you send a text, Facebook message, or email PRIOR to your scheduled appointment letting us know if you are unable to make it to your scheduled appointment. No reason or excuse is needed or required. We are understanding that life can change and things may get in the way of your original appointment date/time. We are happy to reschedule with prior notice that you will not be able to complete the scheduled appointment.
What to Bring: - If this is your initial visit, the primary caretaker will need to attend the appointment. We welcome you bringing anyone in the home that will have direct contact/caretaking responsibilities of the bird to see how each individual reacts to the bird.
- Please keep in mind that this is my personal home residence. I have family, pets, etc. that live in and may be present in the home during the appointment time.
- Please do not bring small/unruly children if unable to monitor them closely during the appointment. We also ask that you do not bring several people to the appointment, only those that will have direct interactions/caretaking responsibilities for the bird. This appointment is for the PRIMARY caretaker(s) to meet the bird. We ask that you bring no more than 2 individuals unless this has been approved prior to the appointment. The birds can easily be overwhelmed and keeping visitors minimal will help with this.
- If this is your final/adoption visit, please bring your adoption fee (cash or Paypal), carrier, and government issued photo ID.
- We do NOT accept checks unless they have cleared the bank prior to your adoption appointment.
Find Our Location: - Our address is 8655 S Preston Hwy, Lebanon Junction, KY 40150.
- We are on EASTERN time zone. Please account for this in your travel time if traveling from outside this time zone.
- This is a personal residence. Visitations are by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
- Please use the BACK DOOR when you arrive.
- GPS: Be sure to enter the FULL ADDRESS (including zip code). If you do not enter the city and/or zip code, GPS may likely send you to a different location that is about 30 minutes away. This has happened to multiple individuals, so I highly recommend either entering the full address or using Google to search for the rescue. It has the address stored correctly for Google Maps.
- Some GPS devices can be a little finicky when it comes to our exact location. We recommend slowing down and watching the address numbers when you get close.
- We have our address posted on our mailbox (across the street from our driveway).
- The driveway is gravel and goes up the hill to a lightly colored (grey) brick house.
